EDUC 6165-2

This blog will take on a new dimension as I investigate and share what happens in a variety of child development areas in the field. My understanding of child development, as well as yours, will expand and deepen as personal experiences are compared to what is discovered through understanding diversity and identity. Newly acquired knowledge with information about child development from learning about this issue will add so much to “flavor” my own prior knowledge, as do new spices in food. This journey this should be exciting!

So Long…

The 6990 Capstone course has really inspired and motivated me to operate in and continue the pursuit of excellence. I had to employ reflective thought, concise communication, and deep introspection to complete the lessons. To confer with my colleagues in group 2 was a great learning experience. You all are BRILLIANT! My goodness, with all of the passion and power that was going forth, we ought to be able to affect the field of early childhood education in a positive way… and very quickly!
To Dr. Darrt, you are one tough cookie!  Special thanks to you, for making sure that we remained true in projecting through our discourse the excellence of a quality education that Walden University promised we would have. I appreciate you greatly! You made me sharper.

The three areas of learning I have newly acquired in this course are;

1. Thorough research skills; while working on my challenge I found the problem of access to quality affordable childcare is a global issue among working families

2.  True advocacy strategies: strategies for solving early childhood and family issues are successful when a group of like-minded individuals are linked together. Such as, what I learned while formulating my Community of Practice. This exercise will stay with me throughout my career as an early education professional as well in other areas.

3. Complex and critical thinking: is involved when predicting consequences and unintended consequences of a probable solution.

The next step in my career is to remain in the field of EC. But I now find it necessary to begin to instruct, administrate, guide and mentor others entering into the field.

Warmest Regards to Everyone and Much Success to You All.
